MALINGUA PAMBA HIKE

An amazing off the beaten track hike through rough mountain landscapes and paramo highlands. It’s just a half an hour drive up to the tiny village of Malingua Pamba from where you hike starts. The community of Malingua Pamba consisting of approximately 110 families, of which 98% of indigenous origin Quichua speaking, is one of the few communities in the area that still preserve their ancient traditions and beliefs. If you are visiting during the week, we recommend a short visit to the local school – play a soccer game with the students or teach them a few words of English! The hike to Isinlivi passes through the village of Salado, passing by several small lakes and over mountain tops – it’s an amazing day hike combined with a great cultural experience!

  • This hike starts in Isinlivi and takes 3 to 4 hours. You can either hike back or catch a truck transport back to Isinlivi.
