ILINIZAS CLOUDFOREST HIKE
Just over the hills looming above Chugchilan lays the magnificent Cloud Forest. As part of the Ilinizas Ecological Reserve, all manner of unique bird, animal, and plant life can be found here. Explore the Cloudforest on a day hike from Chugchilan. However, a word of caution, the trails can be quite labyrinthine and when the fog rolls in, it can be difficult to navigate. If you aren’t comfortable with your navigation skills, arrange for a local guide in the town of Chugchilan. Your guide will be able to point out some medicinal plans, birds and guide you through the beautiful dense forest.
